Wheels for Wells ’08

Hey y’all!
Thanks for checking out Simpson University’s Wheels for Wells Bike Team Site (what a mouth full!). We rode 2600 miles across the country to bring awareness and raise funds for the water and aids crises that are devastating the continent of Africa. It was a wild ride, but God went before us and prepared the hearts of the people we met, so that they’re eyes were not only opened, but their hearts were compelled to respond. All of the funds raised during our trip were donated directly to Blood:Water Mission. Blood:Water is an organization that we truly believe to have Christ’s heart for humanity in the face of overwhelming injustice.
Look around the site to see what we’re up to, why we did this, and how you can join us in supporting Blood:Water Mission.
If you have any questions feel free to contact us at w4wride@gmail.com
Blessings,

  1. Hey Simpson Wheels for Wells Bike Team! I am amazed at how you are choosing to spend your summer. Being to Uganda, Kenya, and Ethiopia I have seen first hand the difficulty that comes along with not having adequate clean water. Thanks for doing this!!! I’ll be praying for you guys regularly:)

  5. Hi Emelia and Hardy Bike Riders: Congratulations! Commendable, Hurray! So sorry your first day was cold and raining. It was in the 90s here in Inverness, CA (Point Reyes National Seashore) and wondered if biking in heat is worse than cold?

Your Video is very cute, but couldn’t understand Bike riders names, except Matt, Adam and Emelia. Suburb mission, Bike carefully, Huge Hugs, God Bless and Prayers abound.

Love, Eve Anne & Richard (Bakan & Bampa – Emelia’s Grandparents

  6. Hmmmmm….

Having said goodby to you in Eugene early this morning I find myself wondering… how are they doing on their way to Sisters, Oregon, via Santiam Pass? My view of the pass from the webcam at milepost 80 has not been encouraging. I see you battling snow and ice at 27-32 degrees with 20+ mile per hour winds–which puts the chill factor down to about 4 degrees F. Not my idea of cycling weather… I pray that God in His grace has sustained you and given you wisdom for this incredible leg of your journey. We are praying!

Tomorrow is supposed to be better weather, but God does meet our needs today–moment by moment. Praise His name!

    Thinking of you,

    Pastor Glen in Eugene

  7. PS Your blog clock seems to be exactly 12 hours advanced! Now, that is a time zone change!

  8. So today I became aware of how emotionally invested I am in this trip. While reading your blogs and watching the video, I cried. At work. I’m praying for each and everyone of you daily and am so thankful that you all allowed me to be a part of this adventure. I eagerly await updates and know that God is using this trip in a mighty way. Please please please be safe and stay healthy! You all mean so much to so many people and we’re all very proud.

  9. Most of us find it easy to give to causes. What distinguishes your contribution is the effort you are expending in order to give. May the gift of God in return be transformation–a transformation of your lives, the lives of those you serve and the lives of all who observe!

  10. We’re looking forward to seeing you guys when you pass through Pueblo, Colorado–We’re now in Colorado Springs.

It was such a blessing to get to see you all yesterday!
I am so glade I was finally able to find you. Are you staying in Yellowstone for a few days? I think you all are amazing and that God will bless you so much for doing this.
Get some sleep and keep up the great work.

  21. I don’t know how to do the whole “photo bucket” thing, so I’ve posted some of my favorite pics on my facebook! Love you guys! Miss you bunches! Sweetness is on the way! Ride safe! Ride well! Keep doing “small things with great love.” And stick to the speed limit………especially in the Rockies!!!!!

  22. A big congratulations to all of you skyriders! It’s all down hill from here, right? Don’t forget your “speed limits” on all the upcoming downhill!

  23. So……..in case you face hard times, from time to time, my husband just reminded me of something that I want to share with you…….that might help if you come upon rough times.

When Mother Teresa was interviewed about her exhaustingl life of selfless ministry, the interviewers were not impressed with her level of success. Not many were impacted by all her efforts. They were unimpressed with her overall results. She responded, to them by saying that God had never called her to be successful, only faithful.

Ride faithfully! And you will “Ride Well!”

  24. One more thing……..

No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.

    1 John 4:12
