How YOU can help us!

How You Can Help:

Prayer Support: We firmly believe in the power of prayer. The nature of this trip will require a lot of flexibility and grace and any prayers in support are very much appreciated.

Resources: We need gear such as bike parts, tools, appropriate food, tires, tubes, bikes, pumps, clothing, gas cards etc. (Gear is not included in the overall cost of the trip).

Networking: We will be following an established cycling route (which can be accessed at this address: http://www.adventurecycling.org/routes/transamerica.cfm) and will be staying in churches and camping along the way. We will need places to speak, shower, and sleep and will greatly appreciate any information or help that you can offer.

Financial Need: Due to the philanthropic nature of this trip we are trying to keep costs as low as possible. Our primary expenses will be gas and food. The estimated cost is $2,000 per rider over the 35 days of this trip. If you woudl like to donate directly to the work of Blood:Water Mission, please visit their website. All excess funds raised for this trip will be donated to Blood:Water Mission

Consider this: $32 equals a sponsorship of $0.01 per mile that we ride.

Please Mail Donations (or anything we’ve listed as a request, and this includes anything of encouragement) to:

-Checks should be written out to Simpson University and you can specify it for the Wheels for wells team by writing W4W in the “For” section of the check. To support an individual rider please follow W4W with their three initials.

  1. Sorry by mistake I sent this under the gang.

  2. No worries! to answer your question, we will have two 7 passenger vans and with a trailer behind one of the vans. Requirements for drivers according to Simpson University regulations are that they have to be a licensed driver 21 years of age or older. As of right now we only have a few individuals who may be joining us for a week or so to help support and then flying home. The trip overall will go from beginning of June to mid July. Support driver duties will be to support riders at pre-determined control stops until about mid-day. At that point we will have an idea of where we will end and the drivers will make contacts for speaking and finding places for us to stay (we will also be doing a lot of camping). Other such things as meal prep and laundry (on occasion) will also be part of the deal. Each team member is raising their own support whether they are driving or riding and we have asked for $2000 from each member. The amount is obviously lower for those who are only coming out for a short time, however they will need to cover their own cost to and from whatever point in the ride we are currently at. Hope that helps. If you have any more questions please do not hesitate to e-mail me, Emelia, at emelia.robinson@gmail.com
I look forward to hearing from you!
